The ethos at All Nations were we studied last year was Head, Heart and Hand. This meant that what we were studying was not only a part of the training and that some practical things we were asked to do (washing up, gardening etc.) as well as being part of the community were also part of our training.
We are doing quite the same with Simon. We're trying to give him a head-heart-hand education. He has reading time, but also wash-up time or cooking time. You can see this on these pictures.
To be fair, I've also noticed that Simon likes doing the wash-up and that keeps him busy and close to me. As a consequence, he's not running everywhere in the house.
